Lions International President Fabrício Oliveira and his spouse Lion Amariles brought extraordinary energy to MD 321 during their December visit to Delhi, inspiring unprecedented support for the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).
On December 8, 2024, a banquet was held in their honour by the leaders of the multiple at the Radisson Blu Hotel. More than 300 Lions from all ten districts of the multiple gathered to meet with and learn from President Oliveira.
In his powerful address, President Oliveira engaged directly with Past International Directors, Past District Governors, and GAT Coordinators, securing commitments for club growth, membership expansion, LCIF donations and leadership development. His emphasis on exemplary community service resonated with all present.
The evening became a remarkable fundraising success, with members contributing US$122,000 to LCIF.
Lions stepped forward to support the Foundation through new pledges to the Melvin Jones Fellowships and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship program.
Distinguished leaders including Past International President Dr. Naresh Aggarwal, Past International Director Jitendra Singh Chauhan, LCIF Area Leader Vinay Mittal, and Multiple Council Chairperson Pankaj Bijalwan shared their vision for service and thanked assembled Lions for their generous contributions to LCIF.
Vice Area Leader Abhinav Singh and Multiple District LCIF Coordinator Vishal Sinha played pivotal roles in mobilizing support across all districts. The event showcased the multiple’s leadership in community service and humanitarian initiatives, and set a new benchmark for fundraising excellence.
During his visit, President Oliveira also visited the Lions Eye Hospital, a highly successful permanent project of the Ghaziabad Lions Club of District 321C1. Here, he inaugurated the extension of a new wing at the hospital: the K. P. Gupta Lions Eye Hospital, which will help more beneficiaries and impact more lives.
The next stop was the Lions Public School, where the President participated in the Foundation Stone Laying ceremony of a new extension to the school.
