20 Lions Clubs joined hands to help 22 people with disabilities move towards greater mobility and independence.
For 22 people and their families, July 24, 2026, brought corrective treatment, prosthetic limbs, and support intended to improve mobility and make everyday life a little easier. They received it at Sanjay Anand Viklang Hospital & Research Centre in Patna.
The initiative brought together 20 Lions clubs from District 322E for a polio corrective surgery and artificial limb distribution program. Organized in honor of International First Vice President Dr. Manoj Shah, it reflected the clubs’ shared commitment to supporting people with disabilities.
Each beneficiary arrived with a different experience. Some required corrective surgery; others needed prosthetic limbs. Behind every case was also a family hoping that treatment would bring greater independence, confidence, and the freedom to participate more fully in daily life.
The support extended beyond medical care. Lions assisted beneficiaries and their families during their time at the hospital and arranged food and other essentials. Their presence helped ease some of the anxiety that often accompanies treatment and allowed families to feel supported throughout the process.
The program also demonstrated what becomes possible when clubs combine their resources. By working together, the 20 clubs were able to reach more people and provide assistance tailored to individual needs.
For the beneficiaries, the prosthetic limbs and corrective procedures opened possibilities that may once have seemed distant: moving with greater ease, returning to school or work, participating in family life, and approaching the future with renewed confidence.
