Lions Clubs of MD 318 Respond Swiftly During The Wayanad Landslides
Investing in Future Leaders
On June 23, 2024, Leo District 3231-A3 held its inaugural leadership training at Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College in Mumbai. The event brought together 145 Leos from 19 clubs, focusing on officer training and fostering inter-club collaboration. Meticulously crafted guides covering Leo service, membership, fellowship, and leadership were introduced and explained in detail to incoming officers, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.
International Engagement
64 Leos welcomed International President Fabrício Oliveira and First Lady Amariles Oliviera at Mumbai International Airport. The reception included photo-ops and interviews, and a seven-car convoy displaying the Leo, Lions and Indian flags. The visit culminated in leadership meetings, with the International President commending the district’s initiatives.
LCIF Chairperson’s Visit
Leos of District 3231-A3 turned up in large numbers to welcome LCIF Chairperson PIP Dr. Patti Hill during her visit to Mumbai. In a gesture of support, Leos contributed $10 per Lion dignitary during the welcome ceremony. The event recognized recipients of the MJF Program and the LCIF Supporter Gold Pin. Leos also presented their projects and participated in a leadership session with PIP Dr. Patti Hill
Community Service and Cultural Exchange
15 Leo Clubs of the district came together to organize Project Ties & Twirls, combining community service with a warm welcome to international youth exchange delegates. They visited an orphanage, where they crafted rakhis and conducted a dance workshop for the residents. Apsara Ice-Creams provided treats as a CSR partner.
Annual Installation Ceremony
On July 27, 2024, District 3231-A3 held its annual installation ceremony with a global carnival theme: ‘The Masquerade Majesty.’ The event, attended by 208 Leos from 22 clubs and over 30 Lions, saw the official installation of President-Elect Leo Lion Nihant Shah and his team by International Director Pankaj Mehta. The evening featured entertainment and the launch of 19 new initiatives, including the Leo Flea and The Fellowship Leadership Conclave.
