Editorial Note

Dear Fellow Lions,

The environment has long been one of Lions International’s global causes, reflecting the close connection between the health of the planet and the well-being of its people. Across communities, Lions and Leos have continued to address environmental concerns through service shaped by local realities.

The Environment Service Week observed from April 18 to 26, 2026 brought greater focus and momentum to these ongoing efforts. More importantly, it reinforced that caring for the environment is inseparable from caring for people. The air we breathe, the water we use, the food we grow and the spaces our children inherit directly shape health, livelihoods and opportunity.

Lions clubs are uniquely placed to bring institutions, communities and generations together, transforming environmental concern into wider participation and more responsible habits. The true measure of such work will lie not merely in what was completed during one designated week, but in what continues because that week took place.
