Kakinada Stars Lions Club Unveils New Hub to Amplify Service Impact

While Lions serve wherever communities need them, a visionary gift from District 316B’s Kakinada Stars Lions Club members has created a powerful new launch pad for expanded humanitarian initiatives. The Lions Multi Service Centre in Ramanayyapet, Kakinada represents more than just a building – it’s a force multiplier for Lions’ tireless community service across the region.

Club members D.C. V.S.R. Murthy and D.C. Lion Nagini transformed their family’s legacy land into this modern Rs 30 lakh facility, providing clubs of the district with a strategic base to coordinate and strengthen their outreach. The air-conditioned centre, built on 1,800 sq ft of prime property, can comfortably accommodate 75 people. The fully-equipped hall enhances the Lions’ ability to plan, organize, and execute their vital community work.

The centre’s inauguration by District Governor E.V.V. Ishwar Kumar demonstrated how Lions’ service reaches far beyond any single location. As Past District Governors Badam Balakrishna and Munjuluri Visveswara Rao looked on, ten wheelchair recipients discovered new mobility; a local tailor received a sewing machine – a tool for economic independence, and fifteen HIV patients found comfort through essential supplies.

The impact extended to Uma Manovikasa Kendra a dedicated school for children with intellectual disabilities. The children at the school received 50 kgs of rice and 10 kgs of pulses.

Even as it strengthens Lions’ ability to identify, plan, and respond to community needs wherever they exist, the Lions Multi Service Centre stands as a testament to Lions’ enduring promise: “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.”
