Compassion Amid Calamity
Lions Clubs of MD 318 Respond Swiftly During The Wayanad Landslides
Every morning, 1,800 students stream through the gates of Lions Public School in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, each carrying dreams as diverse as their backgrounds. For 480 of these children from low-income families, this CBSE-affiliated English medium senior secondary school does more than teach – it provides books, uniforms, and most importantly, a chance to learn without worrying about fees.

Established in 1969 by Delhi Greater Lions Club of District 321A1, through its Montessori Education Society, the school is spread across 1.96 acres. Learning takes many forms here. Students dive into experiments in science labs, explore new technologies in computer rooms, and discover stories in a library filled with inspiring books. Smart boards in classrooms provide access to digital learning in collaboration with Tata Class Edge.
Recognizing the importance of sports, games, and physical fitness, the school offers a basketball court, cricket ground, volleyball court, and facilities for judo, taekwondo, and skating. It also organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions for both students and teachers.
The school garden flourishes with flowers and herbs, while rooftop solar panels and a water harvesting system provide daily lessons in environmental stewardship.
Guided by PDG S.K. Madhok and Principal Ms. Neena Singh, and backed by a dedicated and experienced faculty, the school has consistently achieved 100% board results. But the real success stories walk out of these gates every year – confident young people ready to make their mark on the world.

With support from District Governor N.K. Gupta and Vice Governors, Delhi Greater Lions Club continues to champion this vital initiative—demonstrating that investing in education is, ultimately, an investment in the community’s future.
