One Lakh, One Region, One Purpose

For the parents of a child diagnosed with cancer, the challenges extend far beyond the hospital ward. Alongside the fear and uncertainty comes the overwhelming cost of treatment—chemotherapy, medicines, diagnostic tests, hospital visits, and months of care that can quickly exhaust a family’s resources. For many, the question is no longer just how to save their child, but how to afford to keep treatment going.

District Governor P. Manisekar PMJF aims to change that through One Lakh, One Region, One Purpose, an initiative that calls upon every region in District 3241A to contribute a minimum of ₹1 lakh towards the treatment of paediatric cancer patients.

The objective is clear: if every region comes together, they can help ensure that financial hardship never stands between a child and the treatment they need.

The response has been immediate. At their respective Regional Meets, Region Chairpersons M. Dhayalan PMJF, V. Nagarajan MJF, and Rajeswari Kannan each presented contributions of ₹1 lakh mobilising support through the clubs in their regions. Together, they have already raised ₹3 lakhs, setting an inspiring example for the rest of the district.

Each ₹1 lakh-contribution is designed to support approximately one year of treatment for a child, covering essential expenses such as chemotherapy, medicines, diagnostic investigations, and hospital care. Beyond easing the financial burden, the assistance allows families to concentrate on what matters most—helping their child recover. A single contribution can mean the difference between treatment continuing uninterrupted and being abandoned because the costs have become impossible to bear.

As more Regional Meets take place during the year, District 3241A hopes every region will answer the call. One region at a time, one lakh at a time, the initiative aims to give more children something every family deserves: the opportunity to keep fighting, with hope, dignity, and the support of an entire Lions family behind them.
