Leos of District 317E have been a busy lot this October. Here’s a look at three remarkable initiatives that embody the spirit of service and innovation.
The Punganur Noble Leo Club is an Alpha Club made of passionate school children. Members of this club are turning waste into wisdom by crafting eco-friendly pens from discarded newspapers. These handcrafted pens now find their way into Lions Clubs across the region, spreading their message of sustainability with every stroke. Additionally, these young environmentalists prepare seedballs—compact spheres of soil, compost, and seeds—which are dispersed in forest areas to help promote a healthier green cover and combat deforestation.
On October 4, members of JL Vriddhi Leo Club took part in an exciting and hands-on volunteering opportunity at the Shop Quest event, hosted by Shopify in Indira Nagar, Bangalore.The Leos demonstrated exceptional organizational prowess, managing everything from venue setup to guest relations. Their behind-the-scenes dedication ensured a seamless experience for all attendees at this gathering.
Perhaps most touching was the outreach at Capstone Nest, where Leo members organized a comprehensive hunger relief program for 35 girls and 20 staff members. Beyond providing nutritious meals, they created an atmosphere of joy through dance, games, and heartfelt interactions.
