Compassion Amid Calamity
Lions Clubs of MD 318 Respond Swiftly During The Wayanad Landslides
Lions of MD 321 know that service knows no boundaries, no geographical limits. Over the years, like their fellow Lions across the world, they have been carrying their mission of compassion far beyond their home districts to touch lives wherever need exists.

Serving at the ISAME Forum in Hyderabad
During the ISAME Forum held in Hyderabad from December 18-20, 2024, Lions of District 321A2, under the leadership of District Governor Vineet Goyal, donated computers, printers, and furniture to the Mandal Praja Parishad School in Vittal Rao Nagar, Hyderabad. The project directly benefitted 325 students and staff.
Extending beyond classroom walls, the Lions’ vision embraced creating a green learning environment for future generations. Twenty-five different species of plants took root in the school premises during their tree plantation drive, creating a living legacy that will provide shade, clean air, and environmental education for generations to come. Lions of District 320B along with their Governor T. Rajendra Prasad participated in this initiative, exemplifying the collaborative spirit that drives Lions service.

A Multi-District Vision in Rajasthan

On November 14, 2024, Delhi Naya Bazaar Lions Club from District 321A2 partnered with Lions from District 3233-E2 to conduct a healthcare camp in the Tanot village of Jaisalmer District, Rajasthan. District PRO Kamal Vig (321A2) coordinated this multi-district effort that brought essential medical services to an underserved community.
The camp included vision screening and cataract surgery services, with Lions distributing medicines and spectacles to those in need. Medical professionals identified patients with glaucoma, cataracts, and retinopathy, while blood tests helped detect other health conditions requiring attention.
A Warm Initiative by Lions of Neighbouring Districts
Naukuchiatal, meaning “lake of nine corners,” is a picturesque hill station near Nainital in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region. And this is where members of the Delhi Paras Lions Club from District 321A2 travelled to, on December 23, 2024. But these Lions weren’t just there for the scenic beauty—they came to execute a much-needed winter relief project in association with the Lions of District 321B1.
The Rs.1.70 lakh-initiative provided essential cold-weather protection to mountain communities. Lions distributed 350 sweaters, 300 pairs of school shoes with socks, 200 winter caps, and 100 hot water immersion rods. The project reached 650 school children, 200 individuals in need, and 100 families, providing them warm comfort during the harsh Himalayan winter.
Crossing International Boundaries
Service tourism transcended national boundaries when District Governor Anil Arora (321B2) led a delegation comprising Past District Governors and senior Lions to Kathmandu, Nepal. At the T.U. Lions Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, a flagship project of MD 325, Nepal and Tribhuvan University, these Lions discovered that learning and giving could happen simultaneously during their travels. The delegation studied blood bank operations and contributed financial assistance to Chairperson Lion Rudra Hari Gyanwali

The Broader Impact
These initiatives reflect a growing trend in Lions service—members who view travel as an opportunity to extend their humanitarian reach. Whether crossing state lines or international borders, Lions consistently find ways to serve.
When Lions travel, they carry more than luggage. They carry hope and healing, as they create meaningful connections and address real needs in diverse communities.
