In July 2024, International President Fabrício Oliveira and First Lady Amariles visited India, marking a series of impactful events that celebrated the spirit of Lionism. Their tour included inspiring addresses, foundation stone laying ceremonies for permanent projects, and the inauguration of new clubs. From the bustling cities of Ahmedabad and Mumbai to the culturally rich Madurai and historic Hyderabad, these gatherings brought together Lion leaders, club presidents, and new members in a shared commitment to service and growth.

It was a packed itinerary for International President Fabrício Oliveira and First Lady Amariles during their visit to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. MD 3232 organized a series of visits, offering them a glimpse into the impressive service efforts of Lions in the district.
The students of Lalji Mehrotra Lions School gave the couple a traditional welcome, entertained them with a cultural program, and engaged in lively conversations.
At the pediatric cancer department of the Civil Hospital, President Fabrício Oliveira and First Lady Amariles distributed toys, food, and medicine to children battling cancer, bringing smiles to young faces in challenging circumstances.
The couple also visited the Lions Karnavati Shantaben Vishnubai Patel Eye Hospital, the Lions Blood Bank and the Rohit Mehta Lions Medical Hub, gaining insights into local healthcare efforts.
Empowering local women, they presented 11 sewing machines, providing tools for sustainable livelihood. They also donated 10 wheelchairs to individuals with special needs, enhancing their mobility and independence.
President Oliveira inaugurated the Lions Kitchen to serve meals to those in need.
In a gesture that bridges youth leadership with long-term commitment, 15 Leos transitioned to Leo-Lion membership at the President’s invitation. President Oliveira personally sponsored 10 new members, while First Lady Amariles welcomed five more into the Lions family.

The Presidents Meet at Mumbai saw Club Presidents from all the four districts of MD 3231 gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel to meet and interact with International President Fabrício Oliveira and First Lady Amariles. President Oliveira delivered an inspiring address, sharing his vision for the organization and personally honoured each attending club president.
The meeting highlighted impressive early achievements of the new Lionistic Year. 75 club presidents from across the four districts, added over 200 new members in just the first month. President Oliveira himself inducted ten new members during the event, underscoring the organization’s commitment to growth.
Another highlight of the evening was the transitioning of Leos to Leo-Lions, in response to President Oliveira’s appeal.
The event, orchestrated by India’s Lions leadership, served as a valuable opportunity for networking, recognition, and renewed commitment to the Lions’ mission.

July 25 & 26, 2024
International President Fabrício Oliveira and First Lady Amariles laid the foundation stone for the LCIF-funded Lions Pavani Prakash Hospice and Lions Nirmala Surya Raj Memorial Eye Hospital and Diabetes Care Centre, in Batasingaram village, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Speaking at the event, the President commended the local Lions Clubs for these initiatives.
The Hospice Project aims to provide compassionate end-of-life care for terminally ill patients.
On July 26, President Oliveira attended the GAT Conclave of MD 320 at the Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad. He emphasized the importance of MISSION 1.5, member retention, and strengthening clubs through quality service. New members were inducted during this event.
Later that day, at the 320A District Cabinet Installation in Shamshabad, the President encouraged LCIF contributions and commended the district for its support.

Madurai, the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu, is a city steeped in history. And history was created here once again, as Lions of MD 324 responded to International President Fabrício Oliveira’s call to “Make Your Mark.” It was indeed a proud moment as the President inaugurated 48 new clubs of the multiple. He personally inducted ten new members on the occasion. While the event showcased the vibrant growth of the multiple, it also demonstrated the Lions’ commitment to service, evident in the LCIF contributions totaling $387,000 from 14 sub-districts. President Oliveira commended the inauguration, recognizing it as a significant step towards making a lasting impact in the region.
He also installed the cabinet of District 324B during his visit to Madurai.
