Lions Council of India Convenes in Ahmedabad: Leaders Set the Course for Growth and Service

The Lions Council of India convened its Annual General Meeting and Executive Council Meeting on September 23 and 24 at the ITC Narmada, Ahmedabad. PID R. Mathanagopal chaired the gathering, which brought together Lion leaders from across the country.

Vice President A. P. Singh outlined Lions International’s recent initiatives, board decisions, and updates on MISSION 1.5, LCIF, PR initiatives, and GST matters. GAT CA Leader PID Sunil Kumar presented a progress report on MISSION 1.5, discussing achievements and future strategies. International Directors Ramesh Prajapathi and S. Magesh shared successful membership growth models from their respective multiple districts.

Board Appointee PID Sangeeta Jatia reported on India’s PR campaign, advocacy day program, and the ‘We Serve India’ and ‘SheShakti’ initiatives. LCIF CA Leaders Trustee PID G.S. Hora, PID Vijay Kumar Raju, and PID Nawal Malu shared updates on LCIF, fundraising achievements, the way forward and grant opportunities. Trustee G.S. Hora highlighted the All India SightFirst project and its potential benefits for Lions members. PID Pravin Chajjed provided CSR updates and discussed Lion involvement at all levels.

The event also saw presentations by Lions of Ahmedabad on the successful Lions Business Network model. International Director Babu Rao along with PID Sunil Kumar updated on the developments of ISAME Forum. PID V. K. Ladia and PID N. S. Sankar updated on GST registrations of Multiple District and Sub Districts and other tax related matters.

Vice President A. P. Singh launched the digital versions of The Lion Magazine and All India Leadership Directory at the meeting.

To further MISSION 1.5 goals, an All India Taskforce was established, comprising five Past International Directors who will focus on regional membership growth.

Vice President A. P. Singh announced that the LCOI awards function will take place on June 1 in Kolkata, coinciding with All India Schooling 2025. Reports on the International convention, parade arrangements, and All India Schooling 2025 were also shared.

International Director Raj Kumar Agarwal and PID Vijay Kumar Raju presented reports on the international convention and parade arrangements, respectively. International Director Pankaj Mehta outlined the All India Schooling 2025 arrangements.

The event concluded with the Lions Quest India Awards Ceremony, rounding out a productive gathering that fostered information exchange and collaborative planning among attendees.
