Compassion Amid Calamity
Lions Clubs of MD 318 Respond Swiftly During The Wayanad Landslides
Lucknow, the city of ‘tehzeeb and tameez’ recently played host to the Regional Lions Leadership Institute, organized by MD 321. Held from September 27-29, 2024 at the Holiday Inn, the institute brought together 52 Lions Club members from across ten districts.
Under the guidance of PID Jitendra Singh Chauhan and MCC Pankaj Bijalwan, the institute created an environment where future leaders could explore their potential even as they learnt to assume their new responsibilities and nurture more leaders in their districts and outside. LCIF Area Leader Vinay Mittal, GAT Area Leader Dr. Kshitij Sharma, and other distinguished Lions contributed their expertise, while Institute Coordinator Nakesh Garg orchestrated the program’s seamless execution.
The faculty team – Ruchita Mehra, Binoy Das, and PDG Saurabh Kant – delivered an engaging curriculum that went beyond conventional leadership topics. Participants dove into practical skills like time management and public speaking, while also exploring deeper concepts such as developing personal mission statements and building effective teams.
Special sessions for Vice Governors provided targeted insights into district management and progressive governance. Through interactive sessions and collaborative activities, participants discovered new approaches to local challenges and opportunities.
As these newly trained leaders return to their districts, they carry with them not just theoretical knowledge, but practical tools to inspire and guide their local Lions communities.
