District 320B’s Recipe for Impact

At the busy Niloufer Hospital, a family member who spent the night beside their sick child receives a hot breakfast – one of 900 meals Lions members serve each morning across three government hospitals in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The initiative, which began with breakfast service in 2017, expanded with the launch of Lunch Seva on June 30, 2023, under District 320B. The addition of a Meals on Wheels vehicle, generously provided by MD 320, has enabled Lions to reach more communities in need.

Amplifying Impact Through Partnerships

Collaborations with like-minded organizations means more resources and more hands to serve. Lions Clubs of District 320 have partnered with Humanity First Foundation, to serve daily breakfast to nearly 900 people in Government Niloufer Hospital, Government Maternity Hospital in Koti, and NIMS Hospital.

The service has reached remarkable milestones:
3,009 days at Niloufer Hospital, 2,546 days at Koti Maternity Hospital, and 1,476 days at NIMS Hospitals as of December 31, 2024.

The Lions Bhojanalay Charitable Trust, supported by the Agarwal Samaj Hyderguda Branch, now serves lunch to 300 people daily at Nampally Road. This program has run completed over 500 days of service, expanding Lions’ presence from morning to afternoon across Hyderabad.

International Director Babu Rao Ghattamaneni, Past District Governors Resu Malla Reddy, and Rao V. Kolluri have strengthened the program through their guidance.

“When we serve a meal, we offer families a chance to focus on their loved ones rather than worry about food,” shares a Lions member who has witnessed the program since its inception. The visible impact of this initiative continues to attract individuals passionate about making a difference in their community: 30 new members have been inspired to join the Lions family, thanks to this activity.
