1 Day
101 Service Activities
10000s of Lives Impacted

In a remarkable display of community spirit, Lions Clubs of District 321D orchestrated a day of service in different villages of Kapurthala District, Punjab. On a single day, 101 service activities were inaugurated, each addressing pressing needs in the local communities. Here’s a glimpse into some of these initiatives, several of which were aligned with the Lions Global Causes.

Youth

Begowal Royal Bandagi Lions Club, the home club of District Governor Rachpal Singh Bachaji, distributed 50 cricket kits to young teams in nearby villages. Each kit, containing bats, protective gear, and other essentials, serves a dual purpose: promoting sports and offering an engaging alternative to substance abuse, a growing concern among Punjab’s youth.

Education received significant attention too, with several schools benefitting from practical donations. These include:

Hunger

500 bags of wheat flour were distributed to families in need.

Environment

100 flower pots with iron railing stands were installed at the local gurudwara in Begowal.

Women’s empowerment

was another focal point, with 50 sewing machines distributed to women in need, offering pathways to financial independence. The club also addressed transportation challenges for female students by donating bicycles.

A blood donation drive saw the collection of 200 units, potentially saving numerous lives.

PID Jitendra Chauhan, MCC Pankaj Bijalwan and other Lion leaders were present to encourage the Lions of the district. PID Chauhan also visited the district’s ongoing projects, including under-construction houses and public toilets, which will be handed over the public as soon as they are completed.
